Manufacturing Engineering

Manufacturing engineering is an integral part of TEI’s production process. Our engineering team uses customer-provided product definitions, drawings, models and specifications to develop the manufacturing processes necessary to produce conforming cast and machined components. Our engineering activities focus on manufacturability, casting processes, machining processes and internal production methods. TEI does not assume responsibility for the design and development of customer products.

TEI’s manufacturing engineering capabilities include:

Modeling of molds and cores required to manufacture customer-defined castings

Predictive CAE analysis of mold filling and casting solidification

Development of internal molds, fixtures, tooling and production aids

CNC programming, machining modeling and process simulation

Manufacturing feasibility review based on customer-provided product requirements

TEI utilizes advanced engineering software to translate customer-provided 3D product data and specifications into controlled manufacturing processes for casting and machining.

Engineering at TEI utilizes the following software:

CAD

Siemens NX, Catia, TeamCenter, Autocad

CAE

EKK CAPCAST – utilized for casting process simulation, mold-fill analysis, solidification analysis and development of molds used within TEI's manufacturing processes.

CAM

WorkNC, LeMoine and Vericut produce CNC programs for efficient machining.
